In 2021, we are going to create É UMA MESA, a new project in the catering area, which aims to be an innovative response to social inclusion through the labor market. A restaurant which is open to the public, where the service will be provided by people in vulnerable situations, namely, homeless people, people in situations of extreme poverty and refugees.

This is another supported employment project, which follows the success and impact already obtained by our other social activity – É UM RESTAURANTE.

É UMA MESA will take place in Carnide, in Bairro Padre Cruz, and it is expected that the space may also contribute to dynamize and demystify the neighborhood where it is located.

É UM RESTAURANTE

É UM RESTAURANTE

With the support of the Lisbon City Hall, the mentoring of Chef Nuno Bergonse and the creativity of The Hotel, we created a restaurant where the service is provided by people who experienced homelessness.

It is a casual fine dining restaurant, where we serve comfort food, with a cosmopolitan atmosphere and decor. But also, and above all, it is a project with a strong social impact, where 75 people living in vulnerable situations will be integrated each year, giving them the tools for their inclusion in the labor market.

In March 2020, É UM RESTAURANTE left its activity in stand-by and, as requested by Lisbon City Hall, started to cook and distribute meals to the homeless population of Lisbon, also maintaining the take-away service since November 2020. We intend to resume activity as a restaurant in the second half of 2021, depending on the epidemiological conditions.
